Komainu are pairs of lion-like creatures guarding the entrance to shrines. One typically has a closed mouth while the other an open mouth. These cute white and gold Komainu lion-dogs guard these very dark wood Japanese chopsticks. The chopsticks have a base of Malas wood (Homalium tomentosum), harvested in Indonesia. They have an Acrylic protective finish. 9 inches long with textured tips. Made in Japan. Packaged in a clear plastic packet.
