The peach tree reigns from Northwest China, and in ancient times was believed to lengthen life, and keep away malevolent spirits. Eventually peaches were brought to the Americas in the 16th century by Spanish explorers; and tin the 17th century spread throughout western Europe by Alexander the Great. These peach wood chopsticks are coated with a smooth beeswax finish. The chopsticks have a base of Peach (Amygdalus persica L.), harvested in China. They have a natural beeswax protective finish. Because of the natural wood finish we do not recommend placing it in direct heat or very hot water. They are 9 inches in length. Made in Japan
